Introduction
Welcome to Wormies.info, a site dedicated to true worminess. This site is still vastly under construction but we do have a few pages up to ease the wait of completion. Wormies.info is a site about worms, mostly the 2D PC version of worms. On this site we try to provide entertaining blogs, images, downloads, and a fun, easy-to-understand, worms help section. Just stop by and see what we have... You might have to give us some time though, we still are quite empty. True worminess... What is that really? Well, having played worms for a good deal of time, we at wormies.info feel that a lot of sites out there lack the wormie feel. Wormers make dedicated fan sites, clan pages, and competitive leagues and tourney systems, but not many wormers make sites that capture the whacky worminess of the game. That is for what this site serves; to provide a friendly, entertaining, and informative environment to which any wormer is welcome. New Wormies.info Site
If any of you visited our old site, you would see it was pretty nice for the first few days, but being empty of content the life was sucked out of the site. When our site was empty, and yes it still is, it sort of forces the visitor to study the web page design. And after visiting an empty website for so long, one becomes bored of the repetitiveness of the empty site. So after months of having this site stale I decided to update it, but it was pretty unmotivating for me to work with a site whose design I had already of gotten bored. Looking for a site design which would provide easy-to-update capabilities as well as having the ability to have other admins update the site meant I had to move away from the traditional HTML traits of which I held very strong too. Finding another mate who knows how to edit my html coding is hard to find. Not only that, but it doesn't help that if you want to update the site you have to go through vigorous steps and usage of programs just to do that So I needed something more, something beyond html. PHP was the answer, but seeing I lack PHP skills and the time to invest towards a project like that, I decided to move towards the idea of using a Content Management System (CMS). Literally searching through dozens of free CMS I came upon this one that you see now. It is now very easy to add news and content via the site rather than through tunneling in through ftp. Just as the old site, here at the new site has a long way to go before we can say we are complete. But even when we are close to being complete I don't think we will ever be at 100% because there is always so much more we can provide to make it a more entertaining experience for you, the wormer. Our goal here is to provide a nice safe-haven of wormy goodness that takes your gameplay of worms to the next level. We know there are many of you that strive to get more from worms. We know that that 200 mg dosage of worms that you swallow every time you play is not enough. We know and understand that you don't want more, you need more. Going to those league forum pages is not enough! Because they have assholes as moderators who restrict and regulate your thoughts or opinions, and because there are a shit load of arrogant punks who jump on you the minute you dare spell a word wrong or end a sentence with a clause! We feel you! And yes, we know that those little nerds at the Team17 Forums are the same, wanting YOU to search countless numbers of old forum posts before daring to post any sort of idea, suggestion, or S.O.S post. It's a renegade hang out for little 13 year olds who write snobby, high-speed, tech, worms-lingo remarks at you. All to make you feel stupid! But we won't do that here. -Perf
